2024 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Guides are Here!
In honor of America Recycles Day (November 15), the Springfield MRF Advisory Board (MAB) has partnered with The Berkshire Eagle to publish the 2nd annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Guide, for residents of Berkshire County.
“RRR West” – This 2nd annual RRR West guide was inside the E-Edition and paper copies of the November 16 Berkshire Eagle. Produced by local and regional waste reduction experts, the guide provides the how’s and why’s of household recycling (including holiday season nuances), information about household hazardous waste disposal, an A to Z disposal guide, and loads of accessible resources to help residents reduce the amount of trash they produce. It is the kind of resource that local residents save and refer to throughout the year.

Spring 2024:
In honor of Earth Day, the Springfield MRF Advisory Board (MAB) published two regional Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Guides! See the link to each guide below.
Both of the spring 2024 RRR Guides feature the detailed “What Do I Do With…?” section, which is painstakingly updated each year to provide the best disposal options for household items – from aerosol cans to yoga mats. They also do a deep dive into Plastics Recycling and provide information on local Household Hazardous Waste collections, municipal transfer stations and recycling options, and more.
“RRR North” – The 17th annual RRR North guide was inside the April 18 E-Editions and paper copies of the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Greenfield Recorder, Amherst Bulletin, and Athol Daily News. This issue focuses on squashing food waste. Learn how to reduce your food waste with food storage guides, and how easy it can be to compost the remaining food waste. Also, Textile Recycling, Room By Room Recycling, a Kids Page on Worm Composting, and more.

“RRR South” – The 16th annual RRR South guide was inside the April 19 E-Editions and paper copies of the Springfield Republican. Confused about the “chasing arrows” symbol on plastic recyclables?
